Application for Foreigner’s Work Permit in China and Invitation Letter for Foreign Experts to China (working in China for 90 days or a shorter period)
Required Materials
1. The application form for Foreigner’s Work Permit in China and Invitation Letter for Foreign Experts to China shall be filled out online and then printed out, signed by the applicant (photocopy or fax), and uploaded to the system with the official seal of the employer. Note: The applicant shall promise that he/she has no criminal record. Original (1 electronic copy).
2. Original work contract, project contract, cooperation agreement or invitation letter from the inviting entity. Including the name, nationality, place of work, duration of work, content of work of the applicant, and listing all places of work and number of entries. Note: The employer shall specify the arrangement of expenses for inviting foreigners, make a commitment to the authenticity of the invitation and guarantee the payment of expenses by the invited foreigners in China. 3. The passport or international travel document of the applicant. The information page of the passport or international travel document. Original (1 electronic copy).
4. Others. Note: When applying for an Invitation Letter for Foreign Experts to China, supporting documents satisfying the requirements of High-end Foreign Talents (Type A) shall be submitted. Original (1 electronic copy).
Material Standards
1. All original paper documents and Chinese translations shall be uploaded electronically in colors into the application system.
2. All supporting documents that are not in Chinese shall be translated into Chinese and affixed with the official seal of the employer (except for passport or international travel document).
Notes:
1. For foreign experts satisfying the requirements of Foreign High-end Talents (Type A) or the Notice on Further Improving the Procedures for Short-term Visits of Foreign Experts to China (Foreign Experts No. 176 [2015]), they can apply for the Invitation Letter of Foreign Experts to China, and all accompanying persons shall fill in the application forms.
2. For foreign experts applying for Notice of Foreigner’s Work Permit (working in China for 90 days or a shorter period), they are permitted to work for multiple employers, provided that all work sites shall be filled in the application.
3. Such foreign personnel shall work according to the approved duration and shall not extend their stay without authorization.
4. For foreign personnel with the Z-visa with a stay period of no longer than 30 days, work-type residence permit is not required, otherwise, such work-type residence permit shall be required.
5. For foreign personnel applying for F-visa with Invitation Letter for Foreign Experts to China, work-type residence permit are not required after entry.
6. If the laws and regulations of China stipulate that the competent department of the industry shall give pre-approval or shall have the corresponding occupational qualification for admission in China, the approval instrument of the competent department of the industry or proof of occupational qualification shall also be provided.
7. No paper documents are required to be submitted to the reception window for verification. For those complying with related conditions and standards, the acceptance notice may be printed online.
