From July 27 to 28, Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture (BUCEA) Attended the 1st Morocco Online International Education Exhibition to better promote the international education of BUCEA. This education exhibition, jointly organized by Beijing Hongzhou Learning and its international education partners Yitong International Education of Morocco and a2 of Turkey, is the largest online international education exhibition in Morocco, Mauritania, Algeria and Tunisia.
The Online Education Exhibition invited 25 colleges, universities and educational institutions from China, Morocco, Canada, the United States, Slovakia, Romania and the United Kingdom, including BUCEA. Over 3,000 students from Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria and Mauritania participated in the exhibition.
Despite the difficulties of time difference, teachers of BUCEA gave high-intensity lectures online for two nights totaling 12 hours, introduced the general overview of BUCEA, policies related to international students, and academic disciplines and majors to North African students by means of video link, voice call, and online Q&A, and also answered questions from students about their major choices, tuition and scholarship policies as well as language requirements.
As affected by the epidemic, colleges and universities in China, including BUCEA, are temporarily unable to participate in international education exhibitions abroad. Even though it was an online lecture, we could fully feel the enthusiasm of North African students who are willing to study in China, and it was hoped that through multi-channel promotion of international education such as online lectures, more outstanding North African students would come to study at BUCEA in the future.
It is reported that Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria and Mauritania send out a total of more than 104,000 international students every year. Of the students who participated in the exhibition, 54.2% aimed to study in China as their first destination, followed by European countries. The four most popular majors among North African students in China are: Business Administration, Engineering (Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc.), Computer Science and Medicine.
